JOB: Personal Trainer at the Bartlett Recreation Center
SPORTS: Cycling and triathlons—but mainly cycling now.
FAMILY: Husband, Todd; two children, Jackson (12), Chase (14); and a beagle, Rebel.
FIT TEAM: Marx-Bensdorf Women’s cycling team. I am coached by BPC Performance Systems.
WW BRAGGING RIGHTS: Taco Mama Time trial cat 3/4 (2nd place), Cat 4 State Road Race (3rd place).
NEXT UP: Tour of St. Louis
FAVORITE FITNESS ACCOMPLISHMENT: One of my favorite fitness accomplishments was pushing my friend Beth Nichols in her first 5k. She brought the heart and I brought the feet. She is amazing and uplifting. Another was completing the St. Jude 24 hour ride with my teammates. As a team, we rode 528 miles around a 2.9 mile closed course throughout the 24 hours. Our women’s team placed 3rd overall.
MOST MEMORABLE WW EVENT: Finishing Ironman Louisville in 2014 has to be my most memorable event. Swimming in the Ohio River, cycling past beautiful scenery and running in downtown Louisville past Churchill Downs and the University of Louisville was pretty cool. I jumped into the river at 7:22am and finished on 4th Street at 10:30pm. What an amazing experience!
“Seeing people reach their health and fitness goals and being part of their journey is what I love.”
INSPIRATION: My husband and two kids inspire me the most! We all love to be active, whether it’s cycling, running, soccer, basketball or just anything that we can do together. We love to cheer each other on. They are my biggest fans!
WW MUST-HAVE’S: My Garmin, of course!
BUCKET LIST: Masters National Road Championships in May 2016!
BEST EATS: Humdingers—I love the tilapia with black bean and corn salsa and the grilled sweet potatoes.
INDULGENCE: Spoonful of peanut butter dipped in chocolate chips!
DREAM JOB: I have my dream job as a personal trainer. Seeing people reach their health and fitness goals and being part of their journey is what I love.
IF YOU COULD COME BACK AS AN ANIMAL WHAT WOULD YOU CHOOSE: An eagle. They fly high, have great vision and are beautiful to watch!
FAVORITE QUOTE: “He has shown you, oh mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God” -Micah 6:8
