Church Health Center Hosts Third Annual Walking As One On April 23

Walking As One is a community walk, fundraiser, and celebration designed to empower people, organizations, and congregations to live a healthy life. The event will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, at Church Health Center Wellness, 1115 Union Ave. Participants will enjoy live music and activities, including a 1.5 mile walk, that are focused on the Center’s Model for Healthy Living.

The Church Health Center is a faith-based organization that provides healthcare to the working uninsured, as well as whole-health and preventive programming to the Memphis area. The Church Health Center’s Model for Healthy Living illustrates how the seven key dimensions of our body-and-spirit experience — faith, work, nutrition, movement, family and friends, emotions and medical health — overlap at the core of our lives. All these factors contribute to a life filled with more joy, more love, and more connection with God.

“At the Church Health Center, we feel healthcare is more than just prescribing pills. It’s about teaching people how to live healthy, joy-filled lives,” said CEO Dr. Scott Morris. “Living healthy lives doesn’t just mean seeing the doctor regularly. It means all aspects of life are balanced.”

Registration is $15, but free to members of Church Health Center Wellness. Children are also free. Fundraising opportunities for churches, businesses and individuals are available.
