FITNESS:1440 Comes to Midtown

FITNESS:1440–Memphis opens its doors in Midtown on 2011 Union Avenue, replacing the former French Riviera Spa above Hollywood Feed. It offers top of the line functional strength equipment and high tech fitness monitoring.

“We are thrilled to be part of Midtown Memphis’s unique vibe and promise a clean, safe, fun, and encouraging environment—1440 minutes per day.”– Peter Gouba, General Manager.

Members enjoy panoramic views from the cardio equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, climbers, rowers, and Arc Trainers. The gym has a broad range of traditional free weights, Hammer Strength machines, and Precor circuit equipment. Spin, Yoga, and Heart Rate Monitored fitness classes will be available to members in the Group Fitness Room, which boasts new hardwood flooring. Beyond traditional gym offerings, there is a new Functional Strength Training Zone which includes a Rogue Monster Rig, Ohio bars, bumper plates, kettle bells, medicine balls, slam balls and a turf run with weighted sled. Integration with technology partners MINDBODY and FitMetrix will allow members to track exercise performance data, including their heart rate, calories, speed, power, distance, and RPM, while displaying it in real time on TV screens. They’ll also be able to schedule classes, select their favorite spin bike, manage their accounts, and view all of their historical performance trends.

New Member, Renee Perkins-Clark sums it up best, “Not your ordinary or average gym—this is top of the line. I would compare it to a “playground” built for the fitness enthusiast.“
