BIRTHPLACE: Memphis, TN
OCCUPATION: Volunteer Coordinator at Church Health Center
FAMILY: Glenn and Christine (parents), Kelly (sister), Patrick (brother), Louisa (sister-in-law), Adelaide (niece), and Lucy (rescue puppy).
FIT CLUB: I run for Outdoors Inc and I am so grateful for their support. It hosts a Tuesday night trail run that is a lot of fun!
WW BRAGGING RIGHTS: I’ve raced tons of road races from 5Ks to marathons, several triathlons from sprint distance to 70.3, and trail runs from marathons to a hundred miles.
FAVORITE FITNESS ACCOMPLISHMENT: I ran my first marathon with my dad in 2010. My first 5K was with him was in the 3rd grade, so it was pretty special to share 26.2 miles together.
MOST MEMORABLE EVENT: Not finishing my first 100-miler attempt in 2014 and having to give up my bib at mile 78 when I missed the cutoff time. Over the next year, as I prepared my second attempt, I worked harder than ever and found a level of toughness I didn’t know I had. It got me across the finish line for two 100-milers in the last two years (Thunder Rock 100 and Run Rabbit Run 100).

CROSS-TRAIN: The Church Health YMCA is literally underneath my office so I take classes there. I also have been known to show up on some of the East Memphis Hightailer bike rides.
PRE-RACE RITUALS: I always eat Subway before long races. Even in the smallest towns there is always a subway. Turkey sandwich, chips, fruit, and usually a cupcake, if I can find one.
NEXT CHALLENGE: I run the Louisiana Marathon in January, then probably Land Between the Lakes 50 miler in March and Ouachita Trail 50K in April. I’ve done the same spring schedule several times, and I always look forward to it.
WW GEAR: Salomon skort, Outdoors Inc/The North Face tech shirt, Brooks shoes (Pure Grit for trails, Launch for roads), visor, and sunglasses. My favorite piece of gear is my Salomon hydration vest/pack. It is perfect for holding a ton of water / nutrition / junk comfortably.
BUCKET LIST: Boston Marathon
BEST EATS: I love the meatballs and the peanut butter pie at Hog and Hominy.
INDULGENCE: Muddy’s cupcakes and diet coke.
FAVORITE QUOTE: “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” —1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
