35; Pediatric Oncologist at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

I <3 MY SPORTS: I love running because it challenges me and helps me release stress. Cycling has also become my new favorite sport because I can explore new places.

BUCKET LIST: I’d like to do a multiday bikepacking adventure through a scenic region — maybe Europe!

UP NEXT: St. Jude Memphis Marathon® Weekend and maybe a cycling race.

FAV FITNESS ACCOMPLISHMENT: My favorite was completing the NYC marathon, which was my first ever marathon!

HOMETOWN: Ecuador

SPEED BUMPS: The biggest hardship I’ve faced has been managing the stress of work and fellowship training. The demands can be overwhelming, and at times, it is hard to find the energy or motivation to stay active. But through that struggle, I discovered that sport was more than just exercise; it’s an outlet, a reset, and a source of meaning. Running and cycling give me something to look forward to and help me stay grounded during the most challenging seasons of my training.

MY GROUP: HyperFocus!

RECENT RACES: NYC marathon 2025

MOST MEMORABLE FITNESS EVENT: The first time I achieved a subtwohour time was at the Brooklyn Half in 2025 — and then I got proposed to afterward!

BEST EATS: Byway Coffee has the best banana bread latte!

DREAM DINNER COMPANY: Marie Curie. She was a pioneer of radioactivity and the first person to win two Nobel Prizes. Her work laid the foundation for radiation therapy used in cancer treatment today. She has a powerful story of perseverance as a woman in science, and it would be great to learn even more.

INSPIRATION TO BE FIT: Working with pediatric cancer patients is my biggest inspiration. Witnessing their resilience and how they overcome incredible challenges every day motivates me to push myself and work toward my own goals. It also fills me with gratitude, being reminded that I can move freely is something I never want to take for granted.

PET PEEVE: No pain, no gain extremism and pushing through injuries instead of resting and recovering.
