I <3 RUNNING: I love the way I can challenge myself and show up daily to compete against yesterday’s version of me.

BUCKET LIST: I want to complete a marathon feeling strong and without bonking at mile 20!

UP NEXT: St. Jude Memphis Marathon® Weekend and Houston Half Marathon

FAV FITNESS ACCOMPLISHMENT: Completing my first marathon, The Rocket City Marathon, in Huntsville, AL.

HOMETOWN: Germantown, TN

SPEED BUMPS: My husband was diagnosed with leukemia in 2020 at 32. He has always been healthy and active. It was during this time that I went from being a casual runner to “competitive” running. I was, and continue to be, inspired by him and others who keep a positive attitude in the face of sickness and refuse to be knocked down by life’s circumstances.

MY GROUP: I participate in some Breakaway training runs and run with an unofficial group in Germantown called the Wulff River Runners.

FAV JAMS: “Breathe” by Fabolous

RECENT RACES: First female and 3rd overall at Sugar 5K; 1st place female this summer at MRTC road race series 10K #2 and 5 miler #1; and 1st female at Forrest Spence 5K 2025.

MOST MEMORABLE FITNESS EVENT: Running under 1:40 for the first time for a half-marathon — Germantown in 2023

BEST EATS: The grilled chicken family feast from Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe with roasted potatoes and Mediterranean salad.

DREAM DINNER COMPANY: My grandmother, Josie Owens, because I miss her. She was a strong and vibrant woman with a big personality and determined in the face of hardship.

GO-TO GEAR: Shokz headphones and Puma racing shoes.

INSPIRATION TO BE FIT: My parents were “health nuts” who instilled fitness as akin to brushing your teeth — it’s just something you’ve got to do! I’m inspired by all the 80-plus-year-olds who continue to show up and stay active. I want to be like them when I grow up!

ON MY NIGHTSTAND: “Pachinko” by Min Jin Lee

PET PEEVE: Unsupportive sports bras, or when the water fountain doesn’t work!
