I <3 RUNNING: I love the feeling after finishing a run. It really helps me clear my mind. If I’m having a bad day, going for a run makes everything feel a little easier and less complicated.

BUCKET LIST: I want to run one of the World Marathon Majors someday.

UP NEXT: I’m training for my first full marathon at St. Jude Memphis Marathon® Weekend 2026. It’s a big challenge, but I’m excited to see how far I can go.

HOMETOWN: Mexico

SPEED BUMPS: During my halfmarathon training, I started feeling pain in my ankle close to race day. I remember thinking that after all the hard work I had done, I might not be able to run the race. But I took some time to rest; it got better, and I was able to run the race and finish in two hours, which was a big accomplishment for me.

FAV JAMS: “Given Up” by Linkin Park helps me keep my rhythm.

RECENT RACES: The halfmarathon at the St. Jude Memphis Marathon® Weekend 2025. It was a great experience, and it gave me a lot of confidence to keep going.

MOST MEMORABLE FITNESS EVENT: The first time I ran a 10K without stopping. When I started running, I couldn’t even run one mile without taking a break, so that moment felt huge.

BEST EATS: Maciel’s Tortas and Tacos. I love ordering tacos and “Huaraches” there. And of course, Mexican bread is a must.

GO-TO GEAR: ASICS Novablast and my Garmin Forerunner.

INSPIRATION TO BE FIT: Seeing my husband stay active for his health really inspires me, and running with a group motivates me. Seeing people who are faster or more experienced pushes you to improve.

ON MY NIGHTSTAND: I already knew “A Storm of Swords” by George R. R. Martin from the show, but reading it is a completely different experience.

PET PEEVE: Talking too much when running. As a beginner, it’s hard to keep my breath steady and have a conversation simultaneously. I’m getting better at it, but sometimes I just need to focus on my pace.

MOTTO: Do your best with what you have, and never stop learning and improving.
