You are not alone.
Depression is a common but serious mood disorder. It can interfere with your ability to work, sleep, study, eat, and enjoy life.* You owe it to yourself and your family to get your life back on track. Depression and other mental health disorders require treatment like any other health issue. There is no shame in seeking help.
Enjoy life again.
Even severe depression can be treated. With medication, psychotherapy, or a combination of the two, you can get back to living your best life. It may take some trial and error to find the treatment that works best for you.
Lakeside Behavioral Health System has core values that shape every effort we make on behalf of patients and our community. We have been treating patients since 1969, providing specialized behavioral health care and addiction treatment.
We cater to your needs.
Lakeside supports women who are pregnant and new moms who are breastfeeding. We take the needs of all women seriously in all of our programs. Our gender-specific units give women the secure space they need to get better. With our patients at the center of everything we do, our professional staff is here to make sure your needs are met.
Enjoy the clinical expertise of Dr. Christopher White, a psychiatrist who also is a trained OB-GYN. Dr. White’s depth of experience helps him focus on treating your unique needs.
Facing addiction? Know the facts.
Substance use in women tends to develop into addiction more quickly than in men.* This may be because women face different issues when it comes to substance use, based on biology and culturally defined roles. Additionally, women can have issues related to hormones, fertility, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and menopause. They may also have their own reasons for using drugs, including controlling weight, fighting exhaustion, coping with pain, and attempts to self-treat mental health problems.
We offer weekly on-site support groups for depression or bipolar support and Alcoholics Anonymous® and Narcotics Anonymous® meetings. Our evidence-based treatment programs are designed to allow each person to learn through a journey of self-discovery as well as feedback from their peers. Evidence shows that the support of a small circle of friends can make all the difference when it comes to recovery.
Other Specialized Programs.
If you are a working professional who needs to stay connected to family and career demands, the Landing Program is here for you. It addresses substance use, mental health issues, or both, surrounded by the amenities and specialty treatment options that can help promote a successful recovery.
We are in this together.
Lakeside’s greatest asset is the multidisciplinary staff—the psychiatrists, professional nurses, community counselors, social workers, and therapists who work as a team to uphold a commitment to excellence. We are passionate about helping patients and their families resolve issues so that recovery is possible.
