The Female-Focused Barre Enthusiast Owner of Neighborhood Barre Memphis
Health and wellness has always been a priority and passion of Ainsley Hightower. In 2019, she started a health-coaching side hustle, which opened her mind up to the possibilities of a career in wellness after years of working in the event planning and marketing space. In 2021, Ainsley went through training to become a Neighborhood Barre instructor and felt like so many things about her personality and passions clicked in this role.
Now, she is the newly-appointed owner of Neighborhood Barre Memphis, where she teaches five weekly classes. Outside of business ownership and teaching barre, Ainsley raises three boys, sits on the event committee for Palmer Home for Children’s signature event at the Memphis Hunt and Polo Club each year, and is an avid yogi and a Yoga Alliance RYT 200.
Ainsley describes Neighborhood Barre as such a special place, beyond providing an incredible workout that was made for women of all ages and stages. She’s passionate about cultivating and maintaining the community they’ve built: somewhere women can come no matter their fitness level and feel pushed, cared for, and proud of themselves—a place where they can feel included and not like they need to infiltrate a clique.
The way Ainsley sees it, being a woman, a mother, and a partner is challenging these days. Women deserve a space to leave other priorities and worries at the door and focus on themselves. At Neighborhood Barre, they’re providing a challenging workout that will change your body and a community where women feel celebrated and happy.
Neighborhood Barre offers classic barre classes, as well as barre HIIT and barre Strength classes, yoga, and 30-minute “lunch break” classes. Currently, Ainsley is partnering with other local businesses and experts to offer Sunday workshops on various topics. They premiered with a Pelvic Floor workshop and yoga flow at the studio. Still, she would love to plan more topics to educate clients on the lymphatic system, uses of Chinese medicine, food sensitivities, and more in the future.
