Runner & Endurance / Weight Lifting 29; Assistant District Attorney / Army Captain
I <3 RUNNING: The thing I love about running is you train for hours, days, weeks, months, and years just to shave off minutes and seconds. It’s a sport that requires you to be all in just to be mediocre.
BUCKET LIST: I want to do a full Ironman and the Boston Marathon.
UP NEXT: Ironman 70.3
FAV FITNESS ACCOMPLISHMENT: Running my first marathon and ultra in the same calendar year.
HOMETOWN: Ringgold, GA
FAV JAMS: “Youngest Daughter” by Superheaven
RECENT RACES: West Cancer 5K (2nd age group); Navy 5K (2nd overall); Navy Half Marathon (3rd age group); Wolfman 21 (3rd age group); Chattanooga Marathon; and Mamba 50K.
MOST MEMORABLE FITNESS EVENT: My 12-mile ruck march for Army Air Assault graduation at Fort Campbell. On the final 6 miles, they give you your wings to carry.
BEST EATS: Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen. I enjoy the A.M. breakfast.
DREAM DINNER COMPANY: Lance Armstrong. Love him or hate him, he’s the greatest athlete ever to live.
GO-TO GEAR: Anything Hoka — best running shoes hands down.
INSPIRATION TO BE FIT: I found that pushing myself on the pavement and in the weight room transitioned well to my personal and professional life. I am inspired to be fit because the only distance that matters is the six inches between the ears, but it takes miles and hours to train that discipline.
ON MY NIGHTSTAND: “The Terminal List” by Jack Carr
PET PEEVE: Runners who stop at a traffic light and jog in place.
BINGE-WATCHING: “The Wire” QUOTE: “Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.” – T.S. Elliot
