FAV WAY TO WORKOUT:
Strength training is my favorite. I love feeling strong, challenging myself, and seeing progress over time. It gives me energy, clears my mind, and always leaves me feeling accomplished.
BIGGEST FITNESS MYTH:
A common myth is that cardio is the best way to change your body. While cardio is great for your health, strength training is key for building muscle, improving body composition, supporting bone health, and staying strong as we age.
BIGGEST NUTRITION MYTH:
One of the biggest misconceptions is that healthy eating has to mean eating less or being overly restrictive. Good nutrition is about balance: fueling your body with enough protein and nutrients to support muscle, metabolism, and your workouts, while building habits you can actually maintain.
MY TYPICAL WORKOUT DAY:
The day involves heavy lifting, good music, and a workout that challenges me from start to finish.
MY ADVICE:
Don’t let age determine what you think you’re capable of doing. You can build strength, improve balance, and gain confidence at any age.
MY FITNESS TIP:
Strength train for your future self. Building muscle today supports your strength, balance, bone health, and independence for years to come.
IF I COULD ONLY HAVE ONE PIECE OF EQUIPMENT:
Dumbbells! They’re simple, versatile, and you can train your entire body with them at any fitness level.
ALWAYS IN MY GYM BAG:
My headphones, because every great workout needs a great playlist!
MY FITNESS INSPIRATION:
The older adults I work with inspire me most. Their determination and progress remind me every day that it’s never too late to get stronger.
DREAM WORKOUT PARTNER:
My husband and our 80-year-old selves; I’d love to see us still working out together and see the results of what all these years of strength training did for us.
MY GO-TO SNACK:
Anything with protein! On busy days, I keep it simple and grab whatever helps me stay fueled.
DIET PHILOSOPHY:
Nourish your body, enjoy your food, and choose habits you can maintain for life.
NEWBIE ADVICE:
Start where you are, not where you think you should be. Focus on small, consistent steps, celebrate your progress, and remember: the goal is to build a lifestyle you can enjoy and maintain.
GOALS FOR THE YEAR AHEAD:
My current goals are to continue building muscle while improving my recovery, especially my HRV and sleep score. I’m focusing on consistent strength training, quality sleep, and giving my body the recovery it needs.
