67; Retired Pilot from FedEx

I LOVE RUNNING: No matter where you are, you can put on a pair of running shoes and head out to explore. There are always new things to see, even on the same course.

FUN TIDBITS: I really didn’t start running until Desert Storm in 1991. Today, I run with my wife, Debi, for at least 20 miles a week.

BUCKET LIST: I don’t have one because I’ve run in so many different places I feel content.

UP NEXT: Heroes Legacy Trail Run in Daytona Beach, Youth Villages 5K, and Chilly Chili 5K

FAVE FITNESS ACCOMPLISHMENT: Running three marathons

HOMETOWN: Hempstead, NY

SPEED BUMPS: Years ago, I had a torn meniscus, but other than that, I’ve been fortunate to keep going.

MY GROUP: MRTC, Bartlett Runners, an informal running supper club

FAVORITE JAMS: I don’t listen to music because I like to hear the sounds around me, even running in a city.

RECENT RACES: Lovewell 5K and Peachtree 10K Roadrace, which I’ve done for about 30 years.

MOST MEMORABLE FITNESS EVENT: Running the Air Force Marathon in Dayton, OH. Since I spent 20 years in the Air Force Reserves, to finish the race, running past the type of aircraft that I flew (C-141) brought an extra feeling of pride.

BEST EATS: Crab Cakes from Coastal Fish Company

DREAM DINNER COMPANY: My parents. Now that I have reached the ripe old age of 67, it would be great to talk with them again now that I have a better perspective of life and what they went through.

GO-TO GEAR: Hoka running shoes, my Garmin watch, and a small camera.

INSPIRATION TO BE FIT: As you age, you need to keep moving, even if your pace slows down.

ON MY NIGHTSTAND: “The Wisdom of the Bullfrog: Leadership Made Simple (But Not Easy)” by Admiral William H. McRaven

PET PEEVE: People who are not aware of their surroundings and lack courteousness to others.

FAV INDULGENCE: Milkshakes!
